| Game Comments: Lewistown jumped to an 8-4 lead in the first quarter and then Bunker Hill Meissner stormed back to take a 10-8 lead after one quarter. the score was tied at 12-12 before Meissner went on an 8-1 tear tolead by seven at halftime. Abby Paul had 13 points for Meissner at the half and Kalie Bainter-Wilcox led Lewistown Central with 11. Lewistown Central turned things around in the second half. Led by Kalie Bainter-Wilcox the Indians outscored Bunker Hill Meissner 18-6 in the third quarter. Bainter-Wilcox scored nine of her team's last 11 points in the third quarter. She tied it at 24-24 with a steallayup and put the Indians ahead for good at 28-26 on a steal layup with :05.6 to go in the quarter, and fired in a three-pointer at the buzzer to give Lewistown Central a 31-26 lead after three quarters. She scored twice again on steal layups in the early part of the fourth quarter to give her team a 36-28 lead that was never challenged thereafter. Bunker Hill Meissner went over four minutes in the middle part of the fourth quarter without scoring. Kalie Bainter-Wilcox led Lewistown Central with 28 points on 10 two-point field goals, one trey and 5-9 from the free throw line. Abby Paul led Bunker Hill Meissner with 18. Lewistown Central advances to the quarterfinals Monday with an 18-3 record. Bunker Hill Meissner ends at 20-2. |
