Game Comments: Fundamentally fluid Brimfield used a pressure defense to force Paris Crestwood into 23 turnovers that set up Brimfield's fast break offense for its 57-34 win. Brimfield's defense forced Crestwood into 11 first half turnovers and 12 in the second half. Brimfield made seven three-point shots to tie the IESA all-time single game record for three-pointers with Normal Epiphany, which got seven in today's second game, along with Maroa Forsyth in 1996 (8A)and London Mills Valley in 2000 (7A). The seven treys also ties the 8A team single game record for three-pointers. Brimfield was led by Kelsey Herridge who scored 26 points, including five three-pointers. Teammate Brycie Courter got the other two treys. Listed at 5-9 in the program, Brimfield's paige Spietz played like she was 6-0or taller and was a force under the basket. her defensive rebounding triggered the Brimfield fast break. Paris Crestwood was led in scoring by Kaitlyn breeding with 16 points while teammate Allison Piper added 11, including a trio of treys. Brimfield advances to the quarterfinals with a 23-1 record, the only loss comng at the hands of Canton Ingersoll. Paris Crestwood, making its 12th apearance in the 8A state tournament ended the year at 19-4. The two teams made a combined 11 three-point field goals. IESA does not keep a record for most field goals in a game by two teams.
