Game Comments: The Panthers of Edwardsville Liberty battled the Indians of Minooka in the third quarterfinal match-up. The Panthers started off strong moving the ball around for the open shot. #14 Brooke Allen put the first points on the board with a rebound put back. Minooka found their rhythm towards the end of the quarter and tied the game a 6 apiece. The second quarter saw the battle continue with Liberty taking a small lead at the half.
Edwardsville Liberty started the second half on a nice backdoor lay-up by #2 Queirra Love, but Minooka had a quick answer with a three by # 3 Breanna Hammer. The two teams battled back and forth through the third quarter. Love continued to add to her game high 15 points in the fourth quarter and the Panthers picked up their defense and held Minooka to 5 points to go on and win 36-26. Congratulations to Minooka on a great season. Edwardsville Liberty will play in the 6:30 semifinal game tonight.
