Game Comments: With the 8-1A third place title hanging in the balance, Sigel Mt. Michael's used a memorable third quarter to catapult them past Peoria St. Mark 50-37. Early on it was all Sigel St. Michael's, jumping out to an impressive 16-4 to close out the first quarter. Fueled by the post play of Michael Wolke and Dalton Walk, the Sharpshooters dominated the paint with numerous rebounds that led to second chance points. Facing a 12 point deficit to begin the second quarter, Alex Skibba and his Marksmen teammates used a sense of urgency to fight back into the game. Skibba began slicing through defenders to the lead the comeback charge for Peoria St. Mark, as the Marksmen remarkably tied the game at 21 entering halftime. As impressive as the Marksmen's second quarter comeback was, it was put to bed early by a memorable third quarter for the Sharpshooters. Showing no loss of confidence, Sigel St. Michael's used their fast pace offense to help them outscore Peoria St. Mark 26-8 in the third. Brock Bueker exploded for 13 third quarter points, as he finished with a game high 21. This time, there would be no comeback as the Sharpshooters kept their foot on the gas throughout the second half en route to their third place victory.
