Early on, it was all Tigers as both Mike Wise and Austin Kavanaugh netted four points to fuel Garner to an early 8-2 advantage. The lead would not last long, as the Marksmen would begin to slowly chip away at the deficit. Carsten Opris tallied 9 of his 12 total points in the second quarter, which aided Peoria St. Mark in tying the game heading into halftime. From there, the Marksmen defense would make their presence felt, holding the Tigers to just four third quarter points. That defensive statement changed the momentum of the game, as the Marksmen ballooned their lead to double digits mid-fourth quarter. Alex Skibba sank critical free-throws down the stretch that would inevitability seal the victory for Peoria St. Marks. Three Marksmen scored 12 points or more, while the Tigers had just one player in double figures. Peoria St. Mark now advances to the state's semifinal against today's previous winner in Oglesby Holy Family. Game time is tonight at 5:00pm.
