In the first quarter, this offensive clinic was mostly one sided in favor of the Crusaders. Led by Josh Sapp and his eight first quarter points, Oglesby Holy Family cruised out to an 18-5 lead. Second quarter was much of the same, this time it was Jon Dose and Brady Booker combining for the eight points increasing the lead for the Crusaders. The eventual defeat wouldn't prevent the Marksmen from going quietly, as they tallied an impressive 28 points in the second half. Most of those were courtesy of Alex Skippa, who added to his game high 26 points for Peoria St. Mark. The Crusaders countered with a more balanced offensive attack, with Braidy Shipp, Josh Sapp and Jon Dose all accounting for 10 points or more. It was due to this offensive stability that Oglesby Holy Family will move on to the 8-1A state finals. The Crusaders await the winner of tonight's Sigel St. Michael's, Decatur matchup, while Peoria St. Mark will square off for third against the runner-up.
