Match Comments: The championship match saw the Cardinals of Pleasant Plains take on the Braves of Mackinaw Dee Mack. The two teams traded side out points early in the set until #13 MacKenzie Houser stepped up to serve 6 consecutive service points with three aces giving the Cardinals a 5 point lead. The Cardinals were led by #34 McKenna Wise at the net who came up with several huge blocks in the match and disrupted the hitters for the Braves. The Braves made a little rally late in the first set, but they could not string together enough successful serves to overcome the lead that the Cardinals had built up.
The second set saw the Cardinals jump out quickly once again, but the Braves battle back to tie the game multiple times. #9 Shelby Debolt and #22 hope McGinnis came up big early on at the net with a couple kills. But then #32 Alyia Olier gave the Cardinals a little cushion as she stepped up to serve 5 straight points with one ace. Closing in on the match #31 Emily Long had a huge kill on the left side to give the Cardinals the chance to serve out for the match and #12 Macy Kanllakan stepped up and fired off an Ace for the championship. Congratulations to the Braves on a great season.
Congratulations to Coach Dufour and the Cardinals of Pleasant Plains this is their fourth consecutive championship title at 7-3A.
