Match Comments: In the first set of the first 7-3 quarterfinal match of the day saw the Bobcats of Beecher take on the Cardinals of Pleasant Plains. Beecher was first on the scoreboard, but nerves played a role early on for both teams as they traded points in the set. When #31 Emily Long stepped up to serve and fired off eleven straight points to give the Cardinals the lead. The Bobcats made a run at the end, but the lead was too much to recover from in the set.
The Bobcats were plagued with bad passing in the second set as they struggled to get into their offensive attack. Communication errors plagued the Cardinals early on until #31 Long rotated to the front and stung together several kills to help give Pleasant Plains the lead. #6 Miranda Chase led Cardinal servers in the second set with 8 serves and 2 aces.
Congratulations to Beecher on a great season. Pleasant Plains will play in the 1:00 semifinal game today.
