Match Comments: In the Championship match, the Saints of Bloomington Holy Trinity met the Titans of Tri-County. Bloomington Holy Trinity got out to an early lead behind the hitting of Erika Moore, Addy Loeffler, and Hannah Kownick. The Saints coupled their hitting with tough serving. Moore had several aces that extended the lead for the Saints. Sarah Brady got hot at the net for the Saints and soon the lead was 11-4. Alexis Hunter and Jessica Massie combined for several kills that kept the Titans in the set. The Saints stayed strong at the net and Brady had a well-placed tip to close the first set for the Saints. In the second set, the Saints again got out to an early lead. After a side-out, it was Hunter who had an ace to tie the game at 4 for the Titans. The Saints got the ball back and Brady took over at the net. Massie had a kill that brought the ball back to the Titans at 8-9. The Saints played some good defense to recover the serve and then it was Addy Loeffler and Moore who combined at the net to bring the Saints to 20-8. The Saints strong net play continued and the Saints closed out the match after a great double-block by Loeffler and Danielle Witzig.
