Match Comments: In the Consolation match, the Indians of Lewistown Central faced the Braves of Payson Seymour. Payson Seymour got out to an early lead with some good defensive plays. Melina Tedrow got the Braves off to a good start with some impressive serving. The tough serving frustrated the serve receive of the Indians. Trissa Shawgo had a kill that brought the ball back to the Indians. Lissa Hull played tough at the net for the Braves and put Payson Seymour up 8-3. Haley Hickerson had several aces that extended the lead of the Braves. The net play of the Braves was aggressive and spurred on by Abi Gregg, Josie Stanford, and Hylee Schmiedeskamp. Well placed serves brought Lewistown back into the set but it was the serving prowess of Hickerson who closed out the set for the Braves. In the second set, the Braves got out to an early lead behind the aggressive net play of Stanford. Ashlyn Towery answered with some quick net play of her own to put Lewistown on the scoreboard. Stanford had several more kills that extended the lead of the Braves to 9-2. Ashley Barclay had a kill that put the ball into the hands of Cassidy Barr for the Indians. Barr went on a serving run that brought the score to 10-15. It was Schmiedeskamp that had a kill for the Braves and pushed the Braves closer to victory. Towery answered with a kill that spurred a great comeback for the Indians that was highlighted by some outstanding defensive players and tough serving. The Braves got the ball back and it was Stanford who closed out the match with an ace.
