Match Comments: In the first semi-final, the Indians of Lewistown Central met the Titans of Oakland Lake Crest. Oakland got out to a quick lead still feeling the momentum of the quarter-final win. Ashlyn Towery had an ace that kept the Indians close. Grace Burnside put down two kills to extend the lead for the Titans 10-4. Ashley Barclay took over serving for Lewistown Central and picked apart the serve receive of the Titans and putting the Indians in the lead. The Titans fought back and soon the score was all tied up at 21. Burnside had a kill that put the Titans up 22-21. Julia Robertson served out the set for the Titans. In the second set, the score was back-and-forth with both teams being effective at the net. The Titans broke into the lead off of an ace by Alison Smith. Barclay had a kill that brought the game to 9-11. Then Lewistown got help at the net from Towery and the lead was extended. Alexis Hunter had an ace late for the Titans, but it was Cassidy Barr who had a kill to end the second set for the Indians. In the third set, the Titans got out to an early lead. The Titans got several kills from Smith and Ashtyn Cottle to go up 8-2. The Indians chipped away at the lead with solid passing and consistent serving. The Titans came up with a big defensive play late in the set to go up 21-15. Smith was everywhere late in the third with a block, kill, and ace. Smith served out the match for the Titans.

Lewistown Central will play in the Consolation match on Tuesday.
Oakland Lake Crest will play in the Championship match on Tuesday. |
