Game Comments: With the Class 4A State Championship on the line, the Panthers of Edwardsville Liberty overcame a slow start to defeat the Titans of Chatham Glenwood by the final score of 44-33. The intensity was cranked high to begin this much anticipated championship game, as both teams came out aggressive in the first quarter. The Titans, in particular, had a nice groove going offensively as multiple girls tallied first quarter buckets. One of the bigger shots of the first was a long three from Haley Icenogle. It was thanks to that early rhythm that Chatham Glenwood entered the second quarter with an 11-6 lead. Back would come the Panthers of Edwardsville Liberty, and more specifically the phenomenal play of #33 Rachel Pranger. The standout Panther tallied 10 of her team's eventual 16 second quarter points to aid Liberty's 22-17 lead heading into the half. The third quarter saw much of the same from Pranger and her Panther teammates, as aggressive post play led to multiple trips to the charity stripe. Meanwhile, the Titans struggled from the foul line in the second half, converting on just three of nine attempts. By the time the fourth quarter hit, the deficit tallied on by the Panthers was just too great for Chatham Glenwood to overcome. Pranger would finish with a game high 24 points, while Kiara Downey led the Titans with 10 points.

Congratulations to both teams on terrific seasons!
