Game Comments: In the last remaining quarterfinal contest of Class 4A, the Indians of Channahon surged late to topple the Little Trojans of Charleston by the final score of 35-30. The first quarter was a physical one, as both teams came out aggressive defensively which led to minimal baskets made. Channahon was able to secure a slim 6-4 in the first quarter before both offenses found their stroke in the second. Paige Swango made her presence felt, especially from the free throw line, as the Little Trojan connected with 7 of her 8 attempts from the charity stripe. Thanks to Swango's ability to get to the line, the Little Trojans found themselves was a 16-15 halftime lead. The third quarter would find both teams trading baskets seemingly every possessing until a late three point play from Charleston's Kaitlyn Coffery saw the Little Trojan lead balloon to 6. Needing to rally to keep their championship hopes alive, the Indians of Channahon put on a fourth quarter to remember, outscoring Charleston 13-2 to finish the game. The unbelievable run by the little Indians was ignited by a face break offense that found Holly Bonde open early and often. Combine that with the clutch free throw shooting from Jenna Roberts, and the Little Trojans are off to the state semifinal.

Channahon Junior High now advances to Wednesday night's semifinal round, as they will take on the Titans of Chatham Glenwood. Game time for that semifinal battle is at 6:00pm.

Congratulations to both teams on a well-played game!
