Game Comments: Mt. Olive overcame a sluggish first quarter to rally past Springfield Christ the King and advance to the Class 2A semifinals by the final of 35-28. After facing a five point deficit entering the second quarter, the Bombers of Mt. Olive used their up-tempo offense to tie the game at 13 entering halftime. Brianna Henke scored six of her game high 14 in the second, swaying the momentum toward the Bombers that would extend through the third quarter. Thanks to a 19-6 run by Mt. Olive, the Cougars had an uphill battle to climb with precious seconds ticketing away in the 4th. To their credit, Springfield managed to cut the lead to only four, but were never able to overtake the battle tested Bombers. Despite the loss, the Cougars had 7 of their 10 players score at least one field goal in the contest.

Mt. Olive now advances to the Class 2A semifinal game tonight at 5pm against Peoria St. Philomena.
