| Game Comments: After trailing at half, the Trojans of Auburn JHS exploded in the games final two quarters en route to a 39-18 Class 3A third place victory over Crest Hill Richland. After struggling to score early on, the Trojans used a 28-4 second half run to put away the Eagles. Led by Katryel Clark and her game high 25 points, the Trojans used quick ball movement combined with suffocating defense to dominate the second half. Karlie Mackenzie was lights out from downtown, as her three 3-pointers helped build a late lead that was just too much to overcome for the Eagles of Crest Hill Richland. Despite the loss, Destiny Davis wrapped up her strong tournament play, knocking in 10 points to lead her team. Congratulations to both teams on not only a terrific tournament, but a fantastic season. |
