Game Comments: The Normal Kingsley Cavaliers ran their season record to 24-0 after defeating Champaign Jefferson, 59-36, in the first semifinal game of the 8th grade class 4A tournament. Kingsley led by just one point, 8-7 after the first period but then outscored Jefferson, 51-29 in the final 3 periods to easily win the contest. Kingsley will now play for the state championship on Thursday while Jefferson will play for third place honors. Should Kingsley win Thursday, this group of players will then have won the 7th grade title in 2010 and the 8th grade title in 2011 and their combined record during the two seasons would be 51-0. However, they must first beat the winner of the Piasa Southwestern/Springfield Grant semifinal game to realize that dream. Congratulations to both teams and good luck to each team on Thursday night.
