Game Comments: Tonight’s 7-3A third place match-up pitted the Farmers of Farmington Central against the Panthers of St. Joseph. The two teams attacked from the tip-off each seeing points in the first half from multiple players. By the half the Farmers had a one point lead. The second half of play The Panthers came out and took the early lead, but The Farmers went on a 10-5 run to retake the lead before St. Joseph called a timeout at the 2:45 mark. With 40 seconds to play in the half #13 Dalton Powell had a turnaround jumper in the paint to go up 8. Next trip down the court #45 Jaden Rutledge had a put back lay-up to go up by 10 to end the quarter. To start the fourth, #25 Brayden Weaver for St. Joseph had a nice move under the basket to start to cut into the Farmers lead. Every the Panthers cut into the lead, the Farmers had an answer and the Farmers pulled out the win. Leading scorer for the game was #13 Dalton Powell for Farmington with 13 points. Congratulation to the Panthers of St. Joseph and the Farmers of Farmington Central on a great season. This is Farmington’s first 7-3A third place trophy. Congratulations the Coach Swearingen and the Farmers. |
