| Game Comments: Nokomis JHS Starters: 3, 10, 20, 51, 52. Mason City Ilklini Central Starters: 22, 35, 33, 30, 12. In front of a standing room crowd, Illini Central's Jared Entwistle hit a three-point field goal with 2:18 left in the first quarter to give his team an 8-6 lead. With 4:37 remaining in the second quarter Nokomis' Austin Leigh tied the game at 10-10 with a runner in the paint. Illini Central's Spencer Piper countered with a field goal and free throw for an old fashioned three-pointer and a 13-10 lead that Illini Central never lost the remainder of the half. Kyle Sims hit a layup with :35.5 left in the half for the 22-16 margin in favor of Illini Central. In the space of 1:38 in the middle of the third quarter, Illini Central went from a 27-21 lead to a 37-21 margin and never was threatened. In the spurt, Jared Entwistle made it 30-21 with a three-pointer and 34-21 with a steal layup. Jordon Bradshaw got the final three points with a layup and free throw on an old fashioned three-point play. Illini Central's Jared Entwistle tied the Class 2A record for three-point field goals in a game with his five, with 2 in the first quartrer, two in the third quarter and one in the fourth quarter. Entwistle finished the tournament with 11 three-point field goals to set the Class 2A record. |
