Game Comments: Nokomis JHS Starters: 3, 10, 20, 51, 52. Brimfield Starters: 20, 22, 13, 42, 44. Nokomis JHS came from 16 points behind (28-12) early in the third quarter to pull out the win. Nokomis JHS held Brimfield to 10 points in the second half after trailing 26-11 at halftime. Austin Leigh, held to two points in the first half, exploded for 11 in the second half for the winners. Nokomis JHS made 8 or 11 free throws in the fourth quarter and was 11 of 17 in the second half. A layup by Austin Leigh with 2:22 to go in the fourth quarter gave Nokomis JHS its first lead of the game at 34-33. Devon Wright added a pair of free throws for Nokomis JHS at the 1:37 mark to make it a 36-33. Then with 1:18 remaining, Ray Lovelace made another set of free throws for Nokomis JHS and a 38-33 lead. With :48.1 to go, Brimfield's Ryan Herridge was fouled on a three-point shot and hit two of the three free throws to cut the deficit to 38-35. Brimfield's Dakota Wagner made a free theow at :38.3 to make it a 38-36 deficit. At :22.5 Nokomis JHS' Gabe Dewerff missed two foul shots and the ball went over to Brimfield. On the ensuring throw in, Ray Lovelace stole the pass for Nokomis JHS. He was fouled and sank a pair of free throws with :06.9 left in the game for the 40-36 margin. Nokomis JHS was ice cold throughout the entire first half and Brimfield took advantage, jumping to a 7-0 lead in the first quarter before finishing it with a 13-3 lead. The only basket for Nokomis JHS in the first quarter was one by Austin Leigh with 3:31 remaining to cut the deficit to 7-2. Brady Westart hit a three-pointer in each quarter for Brimfield.
