Match Comments: In the Consolation match, the Bobcats of Beecher faced the Hornets of Tuscola East Prairie. The Bobcats got out to an early start behind some tough blocking by Adrianna Picicco. Madison Irwin had a kill for the Bobcats that gave Beecher a 7 point lead. Shelby Gemo followed it up with a nice serving run that frustrated the Hornet serve receive. A kill by Natalie Bates put the ball back in to the hands of the Hornets and sparked a come-back. The Hornets cut the lead to 7. The Bobcats then went on an offensive attack led by Picicco with 2 kills. A kill by Jaida Schroeder put the Bobcats at set point and they closed out the first set. In the second set, the Hornets seemed to regroup playing solid defense and incorporating tough serving. The Hornets took the lead after an ace by Lexie Russo. Beecher got the ball back and Margaret Landis rattled off 2 aces that cut the Hornet lead. A block by Allison Clark put the Hornets at set point and Ashton Smith ended the set with a kill for Tuscola East Prairie. In the deciding set, the Bobcats put pressure on at the net right from the start. Picicco had 2 kills early that put the Bobcats up by 5 points. Natalie Bates had a kill late in the match for the Hornets to stop a run by Beecher. Schroeder had 2 kills to bring the Bobcats to match point and it was Jennifer Goers that finished the match with a kill for Beecher.
