Match Comments: The fourth match of the day featured the Knights of Wenona Fieldcrest against the Hornets of Tuscola East Prairie. The Hornets fired up their offensive pressure right from the start. Natalie Bates and Sidney Watson both had kills early for East Prairie and got them off to an aggressive start. Emma Petersen caught fire for the Knights with two kills and put the Knights on the scoreboard. Then, it was Jacie Sullivan who took over at the net for the Knights and came up with a big block to bring Fieldcrest within 6 points. With the ball in the hands of Lexis Jochums, the Knights were able to capitalize on two aces. The Hornets then put up a wall of blocks from Allison Clark and Lexie Russo. That sparked an offensive run from Natalie Bates, Russo, and Clark that capped off the set for the Hornets. In the second set, Wenona Fieldcrest got out to an early start. Petersen had two kills that helped build a lead for the Knights. Alicia Tjaden had a great defensive play for the Knights to cap off a 6-0 run. McKinley Miller stepped up and had 3 kills for the Hornets that cut the Knight lead to 3. As the Hornets continued to work on the lead, Allison Clark took over serving duties and had 3 aces that put East Prairie up by 5 points. The Knights fought back with 2 kills from Petersen. A block from Russo swung the momentum back to the Hornets as they finished the match.
