The Hornets built a lead with consistent serving and solid defensive play. Pleasant Plains got hot at the net with aggressive hitting from McKenzie Smith and Jade Garrett. The Hornets tied up the score with a kill from Sidney Watson. The Cardinals got the ball back and continued their offensive attack at the net. Garrett had two kills to end the set for Plains and Smith had 3 kills and 2 blocks. Smith continued her dominance at the net early in the second set. She then stepped back to the service line and rattled off two aces for the Cardinals putting them up by 6 points. Madison Utterback came in to the service rotation for the Cardinals and added in an ace to push Plains to 18. Smith capped off a kill that put Pleasant Plains at 22 and the Cardinals closed out the match. Tuscola East Prairie will play in the Consolation game on Tuesday.
