Match Comments: The final quarterfinal match up today saw the Jaguars of Champaign Jefferson take on the Tigers of Bourbonnais UGC. The Tigers jumped out to an early lead as the Jaguars struggled with their serve receive. Passing errors and service errors plagued the Jaguars who failed to get into any kind of offensive rhythm. The Tigers were able to run several consecutive service points from multiple servers. #16 Autumn Clarke stepped up to end the set with and Ace.
The second set continued the battle between the Jaguars and the Tigers. Jefferson made the first run on the serving of #2 Hailey Johnson to give Champaign a 14-10 lead. But the Tigers never gave up and took the lead 24-22. #8 Sahirah Ellis had a nice tip to give the side-out to Champaign and the Jaguars clawed their way back and tied it up at 24 apiece but #16 Autumn Clarke had a nice hit to give Bourbonnais the side out and #14 Mikayla Brandon served it for the win.
Congratulations to both teams on a great season. Bourbonnais will play in the final match of the day against Peking Edison.
