Match Comments: In the first semifinal contest of the day in Class 3A, the Hornets of Eureka defeated the Panthers of St. Joseph. In the first set, Morgan Greene was the standout for Eureka as the Lady Hornet tallied six points including two aces. Eureka would go on to win the first set by a final score of 25-9. Game two started out much different, as the Panthers began finding their groove offensively. Shelby McElroy continued her strong tournament display by tallying five set points which included a big time ace. St. Joseph would use those efforts to climb out to a 13-10 lead. From there, the Hornets began to reassert their will behind the strong serving of Katie Morin. Morin tallied 13 set points in game two alone that would fuel the Hornets victory by the final of 25-14. Morin finished the match with 17 points to lead both teams, while Shelby McElroy and Savannah Smith both tallied five points each.

The Eureka Hornets will now advance to next Tuesday's Class 3A Championship Game, as they await the winner of this afternoon's second semifinal matchup. St. Joseph will battle the runner-up in that contest for the Class 3A third place title.
