Match Comments: In the first Class 3A quarterfinal match-up of the day, the Hornets of Eureka defeated the Hornets of Tuscola East Prairie in two sets, 25-17 and 25-16. The early goings of set one saw both teams trading points early, until a late run by the Hornets of Eureka put the game out of reach. Katie Morin was lights out in the first set, tallying 10 points which included two aces. Set two saw Tuscola East Prairie jump out to a quick four nothing lead thanks to the strong play from Natalie Bates. Back would come Eureka, however as the Hornets edged their way into the driver seat with tenacious front court defense. Alison Nohl and Hailey Flowers both made their presence felt in set two, as Eureka would pull away and eventually secure the match. Katie Morin would finish with a match high 11 points, while Natalie Bates and Ashton Smith each tallied four points to lead Tuscola.

The Hornets of Eureka will now advance to this afternoon's semifinal contest, as they await the winner of this morning's matchup between Auburn JHS at Divernon and St. Joseph.
