Match Comments: In the first of two afternoon quarterfinal contests in Class 3A, the Cardinals of Pleasant Plains Middle School defeated the Crusaders of Quincy Blessed Sacrament. Emma Grieser was the standout for the Cardinals in game one, as the Pleasant Plains standout notched 11 points including five aces. In game two, it was all McKenzie Smith and her remarkable 17 set points which included 9 aces. The fire power provided by Smith was too much for the Crusaders to overcome. Valiant in defeat, both Erin Carey and Monica Brown tallied three points in the game to lead Quincy Blessed Sacrament.

With the win, Pleasant Plains advances to this evening's semifinal contest as they await the winner between Lockport Kelvin Grove and Pana JHS.
