Match Comments: The first semi-final put the Indians of Lewistown Central against the Pages of Arthur-Lovington. Early in the set, it was back-and-forth play. Sydney Shaeffer had a well-placed kill to put the Indians up 7-3. Hannah Burdess went back to the line and strung together a tough sequence of serves to put the Indians further ahead. The Pages battled back behind several kills from Marissa Herschberger and Taylor Powell. Late in the first set, it was Shaeffer who took over at the net for the Indians with several key blocks. Makenzi Kauffman and Marcy Petersheim both had aces for the Pages late in the first set but it was not enough to offset Paige Bennett who had a kill to end the set for the Indians. In the second set, the Indians got out to a quick lead. Shaeffer had a great save that led to a kill for the Indians. This seemed to spark the Indians. Powell had a big kill to tie the game at 6-6. The momentum seemed to shift toward the Indians as they dominated at the net. Bennett was a force at the net with several kills and key blocks to keep the Indians moving. Powell had another key kill at 13-20 and it appeared that the Pages were going to make a run. It was Bennett who again fired up the Indian offense and closed out the match with a kill.
Arthur-Lovington will play in the Consolation match on Tuesday.
Lewistown Central moves on to the Championship match on Tuesday.
