Match Comments: In the Consolation match, the Wildcats of Mattoon met the Panthers of Manteno. The Panthers of Manteno got out to a quick start behind the serving of Jessica Schindler who had 6 consecutive service points early. Her aggressive serving kept the Wildcats guessing. The Panther hitters also found their rhythm. Taylor Valant had 3 kills and a block and Emma Hofmeister had 2 kills in the first set for the Panthers. Avery Jackson did her best to keep the Wildcats in the set with 2 kills of her own. Manteno kept their momentum and closed out the first set. In the second set, the Panthers kept up their aggressive serving. Schindler had 2 aces early in the second set for the Panthers. Lexi Rankin cut the lead of the Panthers early in the second set with a kill and 2 blocks. Valant answered with a block and a kill of her own. That momentum carried the Panthers thru the second set and the match.
