Match Comments: In the semi-final match, the Comets of Quincy faced the Wildcats of Mattoon. Schay Mulherin gave the Comets an early lead with 4 consecutive service points. This put the Wildcats on their heels early in the set. The Comets complimented their serving game with great net play. Sidney Heck had 5 kills and Callie Lambert had 4 kills for the Comets in the first set. In the second set, the Wildcats rallied behind the serving of Avery Jackson who had 4 consecutive service points. They also stepped up their net play with Cassi Dow and Lexi Rankin who each had a block and a kill for the Wildcats in the second. Mulherin put the pressure on the Wildcats with 5 consecutive service points late in the second which helped close out the match for the Comets.
Matton moves on to the Consolation game on Tuesday.
Quincy moves on to the Championship game on Tuesday. |
