Match Comments: The third quarterfinal pitted the Panthers of Manteno against the Wildcats of Edwardsville Lincoln. The Panthers built a comfortable lead early behind the serving of Emma Hofmeister who rattled off 7 consecutive service points. The Panthers frustrated the Wildcats with their aggressive net play as well. Jessica Schindler had 2 kills and 3 blocks for the Panthers in the first set. In the second set, the Wildcats rallied and jumped out to a lead. Their well-placed serves and tips found the open holes in the Panther defense. Unforced errors by the Wildcats allowed the Panthers back into the game and the lead. As Emma Hofmeister came back to serve late in the second for the Panthers, she fired in 4 consecutive service points to close out the match for Manteno. Hofmeister and Schindler finished the second set with 2 kills each.
