Game Comments: In the first semi-final of the night, the Panthers of Edwardsville Liberty faced off against the Effingham JHS Mustangs. The Mustangs put on an aggressive press from the tip and were able to capitalize off of that pressure. Miranda Fox dumped in 8 of her 17 points in the first quarter for the Mustangs. Jaylen Townsend added two quick baskets for the Panthers to try to spark their offense. It was a defensive second quarter for both teams with little scoring on either end. Free-throws were the difference in this quarter and the Mustangs went into the break with a 12 point lead. Townsend was the lone scorer for the Panthers in the third quarter. Carsyn Fearday and Fox lead the scoring for the Mustangs in the third quarter with 3 points. Both teams found the basket in the fourth quarter combining for 25 points. A'Ana Garrett led the Panthers scoring in the fourth quarter with 4 points. Both teams changed up their personnel in the final minutes of the game. The Panthers were led in scoring by Jaylen Townsend with 8 points. The Mustangs were led in scoring by Miranda Fox with 17 points.

Edwardsville Liberty will play in the Consolation game on Thursday at 6:00 p.m.

Effingham JHS will play in the Championship game on Thursday at 7:30 p.m.
