Game Comments: In the first quarter-final of the day, the Panther of Edwardsville Liberty faced the Spartans of Chicago Heights Washington. Both teams got out to a slow start in the first quarter. The Panthers were the first to find the basket and that started the momentum. The Panthers had three players score 2 baskets in the first half: Mackenzie Owens, Jaylen Townsend, and Mackenzie Lyerla. The Panthers carried a 9 point lead going in to the half-time break. The Spartans found offensive spark in the third quarter behind the shooting of Heaven Carbajal. The Spartans stepped up their defensive pressure in the third quarter and cut the lead of the Panters. Townsend continued to lead the Panthers offensively in the second half to keep a lead. Carbajal dropped in two 3 point baskets for the Spartans to start a run for Washington. The Panthers were solid at the line down the stretch and hung on for the win.

Congratulations to Chicago Heights Washington on an outstanding season!

Edwardsville Liberty moves on to the semi-finals this evening.
