Game Comments: The Suns of Augusta Southeastern met the Sharpshooters from Sigel St. Michael’s in the final game of the day. The first half of play saw a slow start for each team as they shook off the nerves and pressure of the game. In the second half the Sharpshooters cut the lead to 2 with a three point basket by #2 Jolene Bueker, but the Suns had an immediate answer and took the lead back up to six. The Sharpshooters cut the lead with great free throw shooting. They worked the ball into the posts and ended up on the line. Bueker got the ball in the post and tied the game at 27 with four minutes to play. #32 at the line with 2 min to play gave Sigel the lead for the first time in the game. Then a quick steal and they are back on offense. #32 again at the line added another free throw to give Sigel a 2 point lead with 44.4 seconds to play. The Suns added a basket with 13 seconds to play to cut the Sharpshooters lead to 1. They foul #2 Bueker on the inbound to stop the clock she makes one of two and the Suns take the ball down the court and call a time-out with 3.5 seconds. The Suns ran a good play and #22 Lantz got a good look, but it came rattled the rim and bounced out.
