Game Comments: The third quarterfinal game saw the Saints of Bloomington Holy Trinity take on the Raiders of Assumption Central A&M. Both teams fought hard and battled to the end in this game. The teams were tied at the end of the first quarter. Holy Trinity put together a high pressure defense that A&M struggle with in the second quarter and the Saints were able to get some quick points off of turnovers. The Saints ran a consistent methodical offense in the first half and went into the locker-room up 24-15. The raiders came out of the half fired up and applied the pressure causing Bloomington Holy Trinity to make several turnover which A&M converted to points. The Raiders held the Saints to 1 point in the third quarter and cut the lead to 4. But the Saints had an 8-0 run in the fourth quarter and were able to hold off the pressure from the Raiders. Leading scorer for the game was #5 Channing Collins from Assumption and Lauren Shanks from Bloomington Holy Trinity with 11 points apiece. Congratulations to both teams on a great season. Good Luck to the Saints as Bloomington Holy Trinity will play in the second semi-final game tonight. |
