Game Comments: Alexa Frank made a layup and the ensuing foul for a three-point play for defending 8AA champion Chatham Glenwood to tie the game at 9-9 with 4:44 to go in the half. Mallory Moser hit a pair of free throws for Canton Ingersoll for an 11-9 lead at the 4:30 mark. Teammate Ally Conway followed at 2:38 with a rebound layup and a 13-9 Ingersoll lead. Glenwood's Alexa Frank countered at 1:23 with a pair of free throws. Ingersoll's Katie Harkless made a layup on a picture perfect pick and roll play for the 15-11 halftime margin for the Lady Giants. It was an incredible second half. Canton Ingersoll's Malloru Moser hit a jumper in the middle with :04.2 left in the game and made the ensuing free throw for a three-point play and the 24-21 victory. Canton Ingersoll's only points in the fourth quarter were those by Mallory at the end. The Lady Giants last previous basket was with 1:22 remaining in the third quarter on a steal layup by Katelyn Garlish for a 21-15 lead that stood to the end of the third quarter. Canton Ingersoll went scoreless for 7:18 in the second half and never lost the lead. Chatham Glenwood got a driving layup from Courtney Morris at 5:45 of the fourth quarter to cut the deficit to 21-17. At 2:27 Glenwood's Mariah Cole sank a pair of free throws to cut the deficit to 21-19. With the clock winding down, Ingersoll was content to play keep away because Glenwood still had three fouls to give. Eventually the Titans fouled the three times to send Canton Ingersoll to the free throw line. Leading 21-19, Ingersoll's Katie Harkless missed the front end of a 1 and 1 with :34.4 remaining in the game. Then Ingersoll's Katie Harkless was fould with :12.4 second sleft and miss the front end of the 1 and 1. At the :12.4 mark, Glenwood's Kailey Osborne was fould and made two free throws between and icing Ingersoll timeout. Canton Ingersoll took the ball and worked it into the middle to Mallory Moser who had two defenders handing on her when she fired up the winning shot. Canton Ingersoll advances to the championship game against Bellwood Roosevelt Thursday night. Ingersoll is 24-1 heading into the game. Defending champion Chatham Glenwood is 17-5 heading into the third place game Thursday against Champaign Franklin.
