Johnny Dawson led the way for the birds with 12 points, including 4 of 5 shooting from the foul line. Nathan Harman was also a key contributor for the Sages, as his post presence set the tempo for a physical contest. On the flip side, the Piasa offense had trouble finding a rhythm, especially in the first half when they could only tally eight points total. Valiant in defeat, Justin bailey contributed eight points for his Piasa Birds, including 5-6 from the foul line. With the victory, Monticello advances to tonight's semifinal contest against today's previous winner in Dixmoor Rosa Parks. Tipoff for the contest is tonight at 6:30pm.
