Game Comments: In the second Class 2A semifinal contest of the evening, the Vikings of Peoria St. Vincent de Paul defeated the Scotties of Fisher 39-34, thus advancing to next Thursday's Class 2A state title game. In the early goings of this semifinal contest, it was the defense of the Vikings that set the tempo, limiting Fisher to just three first quarter points. Meanwhile, the Viking offense was hitting on all cylinders in part to the strong play from David Czirjak. The standout guard tallied 14 first half points, which powered the Vikings to a 21-13 halftime lead over the Scotties. Back would come Fisher to start the second half, as the Scotties went on an impressive 9-0 run to take the lead 22-21. Back and forth both teams would go throughout the remainder of the third quarter until the Vikings managed to secure a 5 point lead as the buzzer expired. Heading into the fourth quarter with a trip to the state championship game on the line, both teams were aggressive offensively. Hunter Foster made his presence felt with a couple of key buckets on top of being active in the paint. Foster and company managed to cut the margin to two points with less than three minutes remaining. It was not to be, however, as Matthew Pudik made back-to-back three point shots that would prove too much to overcome for the Scotties. David Czirjak finished with a game high 18 points while going an impressive 7-7 from the foul line. Dalton Burk tallied 11 points to lead the Scotties while teammate Hunter Foster finished the night with 10 points.

With the victory, Peoria St. Vincent de Paul advances to the Class 2A state title game to take on tonight's previous winner in Elmwood. Meanwhile, the Scotties from Fisher JHS are set to battle Decatur Robertson for the Class 2A third place title.
