The first of three baskets in a row by Justin Ruckman gave Herscher Limestone a 14-11 lead, then he scored on a fastbreak layup to put the lead at 16-13, and finally with 1:49 to go in the second quarter he bombed in a three-pointer from the left side of the circle for a 19-13 lead. Teammate Jordan Ruckman followed with a hook layup at 1:03 for a lead of 21-13 and Spike Engelman ended the scoring for Herscher Limestone with :10 to go in the half and the 23-13 lead. A three-point field goal by Limestone's Justin Ruckman gave his team a 30-17 lead with 1:32 to go in the third quarter and the closest madison could get the rest of the way was a 39-27 deficit with 2:46 to go in the game when Vincent Valentine him a jumper.
