| Game Comments: Madison Starters: 13, 34, 50, 32, 24. Glasford Illini bluffs Starters: 10, 21, 22, 23, 24. Madison exploded out of the gate at the start of the game and jumped ahead 14-7 midway through the first quarter. A basket by Torian Wright at 5:21 to go in the second quarter gave madison a 21-11 lead. Andre Berry's basket gave madison a 25-15 lead. Then Illini Bluffs scored 9 of the last 11 points of the quarter to narrow the deficit to 27-24 at halftime. Avery Jordan had two baskets in the spurt. Madison took a 41-32 lead on a basket from Sterling Harrell late in the third quarter. Illini Bluffs got a basket from Josh quick and Harrell, a seventh grader, countered for madison and a 41-32 lead. Then Illini Bluffs started a comeback. With 3:55 to go in the game Brad Burton made 1 of two free throws to cut the deficit to 45-37. Avery Jordan followed with a pair of free throws for Illini Bluffs to make it 45-39. Torian gregory scored for Madison with 2:34 to go and a 48-39 lead. Brad Burton made 1 of 2 free throws at 2:28 for Illini bluffs. Kellen Gonzales got a basket for Illini Bluffs and Burton followed with a steal layup with 1:39 to go cut the Illini bluffs deficit to 48-45. with 1:19 left, Madison's Harold Sullivan scored from under and a 50-45 lead. At 1:05, Illini Bluffs' Cody Cunningham hit a jumper from the right side to cut the margin to 50-47. Illini bluffs stole the ball twice in the final minute and could not score. Madison's Sterling Harrell scored nine of his 13 points in the second half, and teammate Torian Wright scored 12 of his 14 points in the first quarter. |
