| Game Comments: Washington MS Starters: 3, 13, 21, 22, 53. Lincoln JHS Starters: 4, 3, 2, 5, 42. Washington MS trailed 6-4 early in the first quarter before picking up the pace and running to a 16-8 lead after one quarter. Lincoln JHS went scoreless from 1:25 to go in the first quarter when Christian Van Hook hit a jumper in the paint to 4:13 left in the second quarter when Van Hook got another jump shot to fall. In that 3:12 stretch, Washington MS had pushed its lead to 21-8. Van Hook's basket cut the deficit to 21-10. A three-point field goal at the buzzer to end the second quarter by Lincoln's Matt Schierer cut the Washington MS lead to 26-14 at halftime. Lincoln JHS made a run in the third quarter and cut the deficit to 28-23 with 3:45 to go in the quarter. But Washington's rugged 6-2 center Jared Holloman made a basket and free throw for a 31-23 lead with 3:33 left. Lincoln countered with a layup a free throw from Austin Kirby to cut the deficit to 31-26 at the 3:17 mark. Washington's Holloman then muscled in a layup from the left side for a 33-26 lead, then teammate Zach Little followed with a coast-to-coast layup and finally teammate Isaac fisher made a basket to give Washington a 37-26 lead with 1:28 to go in the quarter. The Panthers coasted the rest of the way. |
