| Game Comments: Herscher Limestone Starters: 32, 33, 34, 42, 44. Marshall JHS Starters: 24, 25, 31, 32, 34. A basket by Jordan ruckman gave herscher Limestone a 13-5 lead early in the second quarter. Then Marshall JHS scored eight straight points to tie the game at 13-13 on a short jumper by Logan Cannady, a three-point field goal by Jacob Duncan and a three-pointer from Cannady. Limestone's Ruckman made a pair of free throws for a 15-13 lead and Rodney Troutman scored on a layup to tie the scored at 15-15 heading into halftime. Herscher Limestone went 5:20 in the second half without scoring but still managed a tie game at the end of regulation. Herscher Limestone took a 25-18 lead with 2:22 to go in the third quarter on a jumper by Jordan Ruckman, and did not score again until there was 2:27 remaining in the fourth quarter when Jordan Ruckman made of of two free throws. In the meantime, Marshall JHS had taken a 28-25 lead. Rodney Troutman got a basket for Marshall JHS for a 30-26 lead with 1:56 to go in the fourth quarter. Limestone's Landon Hoffman hit a three-pointer to cut the deficit to 30-29. with 0:43 left, Limestone's Jordan Ruckman made one of two free throws to tie the score at 30-30. On the ensuing possession, Marshall was called for a 10-second violation. Limestone could not score as regulation ran out. In the overtime, Marshall's Rodney Troutman put back a missed shot and was fouled on the play. He missed the free throw but Marshall led 32-30. Limestone's Jordan Ruckman hit a baseline jumper to tie the score at 32-32. Marshall's Rodney Troutman made a basket for the 34-32 lead. With 0:21 left in overtime, Marshall's Jacob Duncan missed the front end of a one and one and Limestone got the ball. Limestone missed two shots in the final seconds. |
