Match Comments: The Bisons of Grayville took on the Mustangs of Royal Prairieview Ogden in the first semi-final match of the day. The Bisons once again came out firing on all cylinders and took the early lead. They were led by #22 Robinson, #24 Foster and #25 Rhodes on the attack. All three had kills in the first set. The Mustangs battled back to tie the set and saw great net play from #11 Crowe and #12 Kaiser. But the Bisons server #45 Fewkes served out the set.
The second set saw the Mustangs take the early lead that they wouldn’t relinquish the whole set. #30 Aden once again had strong serve in the set and several kills from behind the attack line including one to end the set. The Bisons struggled with their serve in the set and never got into an offensive rhythm.
The final set saw #10 Sjuts for the Mustangs serving 6 straight before they turned it back over. The Bison’s #22 Robinson brought the match back to within one with her serving. The strong servers for the Bison’s were back in the final set and almost everyone contributed to their win. The continued to have strong net play from 4 different players and were able to finish out the match 25-18.
Royal Prairieview Ogden will play Tuesday in the third place match and Grayville will play for the 8-3A state title match at 6:30.
