Match Comments: The opening quarterfinal match-up saw the Bison’s of Grayville take on the Peoria Limestone Walters Rockets. The Bison’s jumped out to an aggressive start. Their serve receive game was right on and they were led at the net by #24 Sidney Foster who had several big kills in the set. Limestone Walters struggled with their serves in the first set and never seemed to establish their offense.
The second set saw the Rockets come out with a tougher serve receive game. They were nailing their serves this set and not allowing Grayville to get into any sort of rhythm. They dominated the set with better passing and #17 Mackenzie Catton added some big kills and aggressive net play. Grayville made a run late in the set down 23-9 and were led by the hitting of #25 Katie Rhodes in the middle, but the deficit was too much to overcome and Limestone Walters took the set 25-16
In the final set, Grayville jumped out to a quick lead, but Limestone Walters battled back when #5 Avery Robinson stepped up to serve. She fired off 5 service points and one ace while her team put their offense into attack mode. #22 Carsyn Robinson and #24 Sidney Roster were big once again for Grayville on the attack and #18 Hannah Majors and #17 Mackenzie Catton countered the Bison for the Rockets. The teams battled back and forth, but the Bison came out on top in this meeting.
Congratulations to Peoria Limestone Walters on a great season. The Grayville moves on to play in the 1:00 semi-final match-up today.
