Match Comments: In the Class 1A State Championship match, the Stags of Hartsburg-Emden defeated the Rockets of Peoria Limestone Walters by the final score of two sets to none. In the first set, Emme Olson led the way for her stags. The Hartsburg standout tallied an impressive seven service points in set one, which led both teams. Another big time contributor for the Stags was #9 Shyanne Conrady, as she notched four service points of her own including one ace. It was thanks to the efforts of Conrady and Olson that Hartsburg-Emden took home set one by the final score of 25-11. Set two was a bit of a different story, especially late. After being down by as many as nine, the Rockets of Peoria Limestone Walters made this one a nail biter until the end. Quinn Robinson and Hannah Majors did everything they could to force a third set, as the two standout eighth graders notched several big points late in this one. Eventually, the Rockets would close the gap to just five, with the score standing at 23-18. In the end however, the balanced offensive attack from the Stags was just too much to overcome. Hartsburg would go on to win set two, thus capturing the Class 1A state title. Emme Olson and her 10 service points led both teams, while Hannah Majors notched two aces for the Rockets.
