Match Comments: In game two of Saturday's Class 1A quarterfinal contests, the Mustangs of Royal Prairieview Ogden outlasted the Bison of Grayville in two sets. Set one saw the Bison jump out to an early lead thanks to the outstanding play of #22 Carsyn Robinson. Robinson contributed four service points as well as one ace to help Grayville build a 16-11 lead. Back would come the Mustangs and Lexi Manning, who notched several clutch points to help her team climb back into the set. With Royal Prairieview Ogden suddenly up by two, Corynne Roberts nailed a big time ace that would fuel the Mustangs toward their 25-22 first set win. The second set would be much of the same for the Mustangs, as the team continued to use a well balanced offensive attack to tally their points. Not to be outdone, #37 Jacquie Alldredge continually made big plays around the net, which helped the Bison tie things up at 20. After a quick timeout from the Mustangs, Royal Prairieview Ogden would finish off the match via a 4-1 run that would clinch the victory. Corynne Roberts finished the match with a game high seven service points, while Chelsi Johnson tallied five points to lead her Bison.
With the win, the Mustangs of Royal Prairieview Ogden advance to this afternoon's semifinal contest. They will battle against this morning's previous winner in Peoria Limestone Walters. Game time is set for 1:00 p.m.
