Match Comments: In game one of today's Class 1A quarterfinal action, the Rockets of Peoria Limestone Walters defeated the Bobcats of Lowpoint-Washburn in two sets. Making her presence felt in set one was Quinn Robinson, as the Lady Rocket tallied an impressive seven service points to lead both teams. Sara Carr was also on her game early for Limestone Walters, as #7 was seemingly everywhere on the court en route to chipping in five service points. It was because of those efforts that the Rockets toppled the Bobcats in set one by the final score of 25-14. Set two would be a bit of a different story, as Lowpoint-Washburn began to find some rhythm offensively. Becca Jones-Vanmeter contributed some big service points to keep her Bobcats alive. Still facing a five point deficit, Taylor Laible notched two aces to give Lowpoint-Washburn hope late in set two. In the end it was not to be however, as the five service points from Kaylee O'Donnell in set two guided the Rockets to an eventual 25-19 victory.
With the win, the Rockets of Peoria Limestone Walters advance to this afternoon's semifinal contest. They await the winner of this morning's quarterfinal matchup between Royal Prairieview Ogden and Grayville. Game time for the first semifinal match of the day is set to begin at 1:00 p.m.
