Match Comments: In the Class 1A 8th Grade Third Place Championship match, the Falcons of Springfield Little Flower overcame a slow start to defeat the Mustangs of Royal Prairieview Ogden by the final score of two sets to one. In game one, it was all Mustangs as Alyssa Wilcoxon and her squad quickly jumped out to an early lead. Wilcoxon was incredibly active, as the standout Mustang tallied five service points and an ace en route to a Royal Prairieview Ogden set one victory by the final score of 25-22. In need of a bounce back set, the Falcons turned to #1 Ashley Robinson for assistance. Robinson would go on to dominant set two, collecting seven service points in the process while helping Springfield Little Flower even things up with a 25-16 win. With the Class 1A third place title hanging in the balance, the early portion of set three saw both teams trading points seemingly every serve. Eventually, Claire Dodson and Renee Abernathy began to assert their presence for the Falcons. The combination of Dodon's service points and Abernathy's aggressiveness near the net was too much for the Mustangs to overcome. Dodson would go on to collect six service points, as the Falcons captured set three as well as the Class 1A third place title. Ashley Robinson of Springfield Little Flower and Alyssa Wilcoxon of Royal Prairieview Ogden tied for a match high in service points with 14 apiece.

Congratulations to both teams on tremendous seasons!
