Match Comments: It will look like a two set match in the record book but it was anything but easy for the Beecher Bobcats as they hung on for a 25-13, 30-28 victory over the Eureka Hornets to advance to the championship game of the 8th grade 3A tournament. Beecher will play Pleasant Plains for the championship while Eureka will play St. Joseph for third place honors. Beecher controlled the first set and won 25-13. The Bobcats were in total control of the second set with an 18-5 lead. However, Eureka showed that they will never quit as they made a tremendous rally to eventually tie the score at 20 all. Beecher led 21-20 after a sideout point but Eureka came back on two straight kills by Lauren Rokey to take a 22-21 lead. A side out point for Beecher and a tip kill by Skylar Martin put Beecher up one at 23-22. The lead continued to go back and forth and each point was a hard earned point for each team. Beecher was down 27-28 with Eureka serving for the win but the serve went long and Beecher tied the score at 28. Two more points for the Bobcats gave Beecher the set and the match and a spot in the championship game. Congratulations to both teams
