Match Comments: In the second semi-final, the Cougars of Mason City Illini Central took on the Tigers of Gardner. The first set was a back-and-forth battle. Both teams tried to take control of the net. Dakota Schmeiderer had 2 blocks and 3 kills for the Cougars in the first set. The Tigers answered with 2 kills from Miasy Wills and a block from Sydney Perkins. The Cougars were led in serving by Makayla Meaker with 5 service points and 4 aces in the first set. Celia Barna answered with 8 service points and 3 aces for the Tigers but it was not enough to win the first set. In the second set, the Cougars looked to Dakota Schmeiderer for their offensive firepower. She had 4 kills in the second set and it was enough to seal the win for the Cougars. Celia Barna did her best to rally the Tigers with her 7 service points in the second set.

Gardner will play in the Consolation game on Tuesday. Mason City Illini Central will play in the Championship game on Tuesday.
