Match Comments: In the final quarterfinal of the day, the Cougars of Mason City Illini Central met the Raiders of Champaign St. Matthew. The Cougars served very well in the first set and made it difficult for the Raiders to get their offense going. Dakota Schmeiderer led the Cougars in kills in the first set with 4. Emily Entwistle contributed 3 kills for the Cougars. Maria Eppich had one block and Julia Deters had 2 kills for the Raiders in the first set. In the second set, both teams traded points early. Schmeiderer caught fire and added 5 kills in the second set for the Cougars. Eppich and Deters combined for the Raiders offense again in the second set with a block and a kill. Madi McMorris rattled off 4 consecutive serves to extend the lead for Cougars and Ayden Thomas served out the match.

Congratulations to Champaign St. Matthew on a great season.

Mason City Illini Central moves on to the semi-final match this evening.
